Hi! my name is Rino Sontum, im a tattoo artist from Oslo, and im based at Triple Cobra Tattoo.
Ive been tattooing for about 9 years, and ive been passionate about it for 14 years. My focus is on making the best quality i can, and constantly improve.
I specialise in largescale work and coverups, but also love to do smaller tattoos. I do custom designet tattoos, and i have alot of available designs to choose from!

My style is based on traditional japanese and old school tattoos. Some people think traditional tattoos is about making tattoos look old, but thats a complete misunderstanding!
The basic principle of Traditional tattoos is that they are designed to last, both in the technical and the artistic aspects of tattooing. Meaning they will look nice and solid for years because of the techincal aspects of the style. And they will always be fashionable, because traditional tattoos are not based on trends. Japanese tattooing have been around for 100s of years, and its not going away anytime soon. To me, having something that lasts, both techincally and fashionably is really important to consider when choosing an image to have on your body for life.
With a traditional style as a base, i like to explore new ideas. Modern traditional tattooers constantly try to think of how to improve on the tradition! How to carry on the torch, not worshipping the ashes. I try to do this by using modern technology, and by exploring new and different ideas in my designs.
Its important to me that people get tattoos they are happy with. Therefore i focus on good communication with my customers, and collaborating with them by listening to their wishes, and combining that with my professional opinion and knowledge. Dont be afraid to let me know if your insecure about any of my ideas, i wont take it personally! Im a people pleaser, and easy to get along with. Or so ive heard. Also, there are many ways to make a nice tattoo, and the most important thing is that you get something you will be happy with! I will also let you know if you have an idea that might now work so well. I think thats important when making a permanent mark on your body. My job is to guide you in the direction you like, with my knowledge of tattoing in mind.
I offer free consultations for people who want help with finding ideas, or just have questions about the details of a spesific project. Either in the studio or online. I advice consultations for people who wants larger designs. Since thats a bigger declaration of trust, its nice to really talk through all the details before making a decision about doing it or not.
